Eric Despotes is a partner in the general civil liability practice group.
Eric's practice encompasses small and limited-scope matters to complex catastrophic personal injury and death cases. His practice areas include general negligence, motor vehicle, special relationship and heightened duty negligence, professional negligence, aggravated liability, intentional tort, subrogation, breach of contract, premises liability, landlord-tenant, and product liability.
Eric received his undergraduate degree in political science from California State University, Long Beach. He graduated cum laude from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2009, where he was an editor of the Santa Clara Law Review and recipient of the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in constitutional law. He worked as a bar-certified law student for the Santa Clara County Office of the Public Defender, and was a clinical extern with the Northern California Innocence Project. While serving on law review, he authored an article advocating for the expansion of a constitutional right to access DNA evidence that was published in Volume 49 of the journal.
Eric is licensed to practice law in all state courts in California, and is a member of the Association of Defense Counsel fo Northern California and Nevada.
