Andrew K. Murphy

Andrew Murphy is one of the partners at Clapp Moroney.  Andrew joined Clapp Moroney in 2012 and became a partner in 2018.  He has a diverse practice and handles matters involving general civil litigation, personal injury, products liability, governmental liability, contract disputes, HOA Davis-Stirling Act matters, and construction defect matters.  Prior to joining Clapp Moroney, Andrew worked at other Bay Area law firms, where he defended various entities, including Fortune 500 companies, in the areas of products liability, toxic torts, premises liability, and employment law.

He has tried multiple cases in front of juries, Judges, and administrative panels.  He has also appeared in front of the Appellate Courts to successfully argue matters that are on appeal.  

Andrew graduated with honors from the University of California, Davis with a B.A. in Political Science and Japanese, and was on the Dean's List all four years.  During college, Andrew spent a year abroad studying at the International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan.  He received his J.D. from the University of California, Davis in 2008, where he graduated in the top third of his class. During law school Andrew externed for the Honorable Jeremy Fogel at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Andrew has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for Northern California from 2013 through 2018.  He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in Northern California in 2024.  

Andrew is admitted to practice in California and before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Eastern Districts.  

Volunteering is important to Andrew and he actively volunteers in his community and is a member of the Alameda County Bar Association.  Andrew has volunteered to represent children in education matters at administrative hearings.  He was awarded the 2021 Pro Bono Leadership Award from the Legal Services for Children from his work with children.
