Jose Cruz Zavala-Garcia

Cruz Zavala joined Clapp Moroney as an associate attorney in 2022 and is a member of the firm's General Liability Group. Prior to joining Clapp Moroney, Cruz practiced labor and employment law with a law firm in Los Angeles, CA. Cruz is an experienced associate attorney with a history of significant litigation experience at all stages. Since joining Clapp Moroney, Cruz has specialized in general liability representing individuals and companies in California, along with governmental entities in both liability and police actions.

Cruz earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Francisco State University. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco, including a certificate in Public Interest Law.

During law school, Cruz served as a Development Director for USF Moot Court Board of Directors, where he coached competitors in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition in which competitors participate in a hypothetical appeal to the United States Supreme Court. Cruz also received the Academic Achievement Award and CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Trial Practice: Criminal Law.

Cruz is licensed to practice law in the State of California, including the United States Central District and Northern District Federal Courts.
